What is it all about …?

All people have a right to participate in society and a right to education, independent of handicaps or individual particularities. However, for many young people affected by these particularities a lot of obstacles still exist. As representatives of the project VISION:INCLUSiON, our aim is to enable young people with and without handicap to participate equally in international projects and exchanges. To that end, we would like to invite young people as experts acting for their own concerns in order to build an “Inclusive International Youth Exchange” BarCamp: What do we need for inclusive international encounters and exchanges, what is welcome and what is particularly important for the actual implementation? And above all the question is: How do we enable young people to benefit from and to participate in all these international youth work offers? The Youth BarCamp is an opportunity to exchange views on this matter.

Who is the BarCamp for?

You are interested in participating in inclusive youth exchange projects or you have already organised, carried out or participated in international exchanges? You are between 16 and 27 years old? In that case, the Youth BarCamp will enable you to contribute your experiences, exchange views and meet new people with the aim of organising international exchanges as inclusive exchanges. To that end, all interested young people are welcome to use this offer, whether or not they are from Germany or from abroad. So: be part of it and help us develop these projects!

What is the aim?

Our aim is, together with you and all other participants, to make sure that your experiences gained in international exchanges will become visible: Have you encountered any obstacles or have you made any positive experiences so far? And what is to be done so that in the future other young people, with or without handicap, may benefit from your experiences? In this process, the BarCamp is an opportunity to exchange and share your experiences in order to facilitate an inclusive approach of international youth work for future offers.

How can you get involved?

The BarCamp format differs from other typical meetings and conferences, since you have the possibility to share your experiences and ideas about the topic “An approach of building inclusive international youth exchanges”. In addition, you may collect new ideas and get to know young people participating in other projects and coming from abroad.

You may organise so-called sessions and use them to process, discuss and present your own topics, or you may just participate at organised sessions. You are free to decide where and whether you will participate at the BarCamp. This means that you may choose your topics accordingly at the BarCamp. Once you have registered and you are a logged in user at the BarCamp, you are enabled to make your own session proposals!
